This is an old-style family-owned restaurant that my family and I have gone to for years. You won't find garish fake sweet and sour sauce or highly spiced items here. Instead, they make their own delicious sweet and sour sauce without the artificial colors. They also grow their own fresh bean sprouts. All of the food is simple and tasty. My favorite dish is the pork fried rice with extra bean sprouts and their crispy egg roll stuffed with fresh cabbage and tender savory pork. I like to add some of that sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard to my rice. Other standouts are the egg foo yung and wonton soup. Just the thing when you are feeling under the weather. You can't beat their prices, especially at lunch time. Service for us is always friendly, efficient, and attentive. Good iced tea too, and I love that they bring it with a teapot full of cold tea so you don't run out. If you want to support local businesses and chow down on good food, try the Rice Bowl!

This is a family favorite and we've been coming to Rice Bowl for years. Kenny, his family and staff are always friendly and they do a great job with everything! I highly recommend the egg rolls and fried won-tons with their homemade sweet & sour or hot mustard!!

The rice bowl is simple and classic. It isn't food court Chinese that has been Americanized. It is Cantonese style Chinese, which is quite different, but good in its own way. The wonton soup is great as a starter, and the egg rolls and fried wontons are a must. The best deal is to make an entree a "dinner" which means you get an egg roll and egg foo young. The special fried rice is my favorite, as well as sweet and sour shrimp, with sauce on the side as it is a little sweet for my taste. Overall, the rice bowl is a predictable and quick bite to eat. The service is very friendly and the staff memorize your order quickly! A great locally owned family business.

If you want to see what America thought Chinese cuisine was in the 1963, stop by. Expect it to be more of a Czech meal though, lots of pepper and over boiled cabbage, oh and don't forget those little fried noodle crunchies that actually belong on a casserole.

Review stars based on what this place is, a neighborhood Chineese restaurant. Another place that has been around for many decades. The owner's family previously had a Chineese place that originally started before 1900, although under a different family. This is Cantoneese style of Chinesse food, Each provence is different. The Cantoneese style is much more subtle flavored than many of the other types. As such, some people will find it too bland for them. Granted, it is not "hot and spicy," but the flavors can be quite good. There are some items on the menu that many people may not recognize. For example shrimp in oyster sauce. It is certainly not what most Chineese restaurants have. To be completely accurate, some others do have it, but it is completely different there. This place is very inexpensive, the food is good, the servers are friendly and helpfull, and I love it. If I were to complain about anything, it is the building. It has seen better days. It is boring, but I go there for the food, not the atmosphere.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
